ABOUT
Originally from Halifax and now living in Quispamsis!
I was a high-performance snowboard cross and parallel giant slalom athlete, competing at Canada Games 2011. Growing up a competitive athlete I spent a fair share of time in multidisciplinary clinics receiving treatment for post-injury (ask me about these its a doozy of a story!) and preventative care.
This led me on my journey into the world and pathways of rehabilitation careers. I completed my Bachelor’s of Kinesiology with a minor in Community Rehabilitation and Disability Studies at the University of Calgary.
Then went on to complete a Masters in Classical Osteopathic Manipulative Sciences at the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy in Hamilton, Ontario.
Classical Osteopathy emphasizes the relationship between the structure and function of the human body. Understanding that our bodies are many parts put together to make one functional unit. The Osteopathic Manual Practioner works with the patient to stabilize, balance and remove obstructions that prevent the flow of blood, nervous signals, and lymphatic fluid, allowing the body to go through its natural mechanics to self-heal and self regulate.
Now you can find me after a day in the clinic spending my time on my paddleboard in the summer or snowboard in the winter. Camping, hiking, exploring all areas of Atlantic Canada nature or trying my hand at creating new and exciting recipes! I love spending as much time as I can outdoors, surrounded by great people and amazing food!
Osteopathic Manual Therapy
Osteopathic manual therapy is beneficial for all ages from pediatrics to older adults. From those with chronic conditions to those with acute conditions. Those who are looking for preventative maintenance care to those who need rehabilitation.
The various approaches to treatment help to ease pain, reduce swelling, reduce tissue tension, and promote a positive environment for individual healing to occur!
